I am a licensed nurse and permanent makeup artist.

About 5 years ago. I made the very tough decision to leave the medical field. At the time, we were preparing for our first child. I was becoming exhausted with working 10 and 12 hour shifts. I didn’t want to be forced to spend long hours away from our new baby.

I have been interested in makeup for as long as I could remember. I spent a short time doing freelance makeup services in my early twenties, but I decided that just wasn’t my thing.

I tagged along when my mom had her eyebrows tattooed many years ago, and right away had decided that I probably could have done a better job. I spent years holding myself back from starting. It was “too much money”. I was afraid to commit financially, just to fail. With a baby on the way, and my husband encouraging me, I finally took my first PMU course!

Since then I’ve taken at least 10 additional courses to enhance my skills and business knowledge. Many of those courses being online courses!
