Ideal Placement
Ideal Placement
When placing Gems we must first think about oral health.
Avoid the gum line
Gems placed too close the gums can interfere with proper oral care.
Fairy Dust/Full Coverage Gems
Fully covering a tooth with gems limits oral care to the tooth and can lead to trapped food. Leave a small space between the gums and gems to allow for cleaning. Educate client on properly cleaning around gems and tooth.
Front Teeth/Central Incisors
Though gems can be applied to the central incisors, advise the client of the importance of oral care. Gems on the central incisors or more likely to collect or trap food. This placement also may not last as long as other placements.
Canine and Lateral Incisors
Ideally gems will be placed on the Canines or Lateral incisors. As long as clients are educated and informed, other teeth may be used.
